Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA Summer Youth Coaches Conference 2023

Don’t miss out on your chance to get free coaching tips & insight from experienced coaches!

The Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA Summer Youth Coaches Conference takes place on Saturday 26th August and grassroots coaches of all levels from across our region and beyond are invited to level up their game.

Hosted at the XP Building East in Doncaster, this full day event is designed to support coaches to support players across all four corners of player development: tactical/technical, social, phycological, and physical.

Aimed at youth coaches who work with players aged 5-16, this is a perfect opportunity for coaches to take part in interactive workshops delivered by highly experienced and renowned coaches from within the game.

We’ve teamed up with Jack Rolfe, founder of The Coaching Lab, who will be delivering a game changing workshop exploring team and player challenges, integrating technique and tactics into training, and connecting training to the game. Jack will also demonstrate how to utilise The Coaching Lab's Match Play Cards to support player developing awareness, creativity and reflection.

Jack has worked with several high-profile sporting organisations including Arsenal Football Club, Great Britain Hockey, and Reading Football Club.

Additionally, Sally Needham, Human Development and Performance Culture Lead at Sheffield United Academy, will also be delivering a session on neuroscience in football.

Sally will give an insight into the human brain and the nervous system to help unpick some of the challenging behaviors that as coaches you may deal with in training and on matchdays.

Sally is an experienced UEFA A Licence qualified coach and prior to joining the Blades she worked for The FA for over 15 years as a coach developer and skills programme leader.

Both workshops will use a mixture of theory-based classroom sessions and practical coaching demonstrations to develop your knowledge in key aspects of the game. There will also be opportunities to connect with other coaches and ask staff and deliverers questions throughout the day.

So whether you’re at the start of your coaching journey and looking for some tips and insight, or you are an experienced professional looking to level up your game and gain 6 hours of CPD on your record, you don’t want to miss out on this event.

It's completely free to attend but places are limited so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Tom Measham, Our Senior Football Development Officer, is on hand to answer any questions you may have about our conference or anything else coach development related. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch at Tom.Measham@SheffieldFA.com
