All clubs are now linked into the DBS service via their Whole Game System.  If you are a joining a club as a team official or volunteer, you need an FA enhanced DBS.  To start your application, your Club Welfare Officer needs to add you to the system as a new applicant. You then need to log in to your WGS, click on the My DBS tile on the left hand side and click submit.   You will receive an email from Online Disclosures with a link to your application. Your club will have someone, usually the CWO or Secretary who can verify your DBS application documents.

If you are a referee, Club Welfare Officer or not in a Club, then you can apply for a DBS through the County FA.  Please go to the following web page to register:  https://www.sheffieldfa.com/news/2020/jul/08/fa-dbs-applications-and-verification

Safeguarding For 16/17 Year Olds In Open Age Football

The FA is implementing new guidance for Safeguarding 16 and 17 year olds who play in adult teams.  Adult leagues and clubs need to know these new regulations and have a plan to get them in place.

What you need to do:

  • Identify adult teams that have 16 and 17 years
  • Make sure that team managers/coaches for these teams apply for a DBS and book a place on the Safeguarding Children workshop
  • Make sure that your Whole Game System has managers/coaches listed for these teams
  • Adopt the FA Safeguarding Children policy if you don’t already have this in place
  • Recruit and train a Club Welfare Officerif you don’t already have one
  • Inform the 16/17 year olds about safeguarding

Please click on the link below which will take you to the FA safeguarding pages where there are documents, policy templates and information to help you get set up.
