Coming soon: Adult Respect Team of the Month Award

New initiative launched to improve the match day environment

Following the success of our Youth Respect Teams of the Month programme, which recognises and rewards youth teams who achieve high respect scores every month, we’re delighted to announce we’re implementing a similar initiative for adult teams in the 2023/24 season.

The respect, reward and intervention programme aims to improve behaviour at games and create the right environment for players, match officials, volunteers and supporters to ensure that football is fun, safe and inclusive.

Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA will produce monthly discipline tables from all our local adult 11v11 leagues, taking into consideration and comparing every team’s disciplinary record both on and off the pitch.

Adult teams that achieve the best disciplinary record each month will qualify for a monthly prize draw to win Kitlocker vouchers. We'll announce every Adult Respect Team of the Month on our website and across our social media channels.

The programme will also act as an early intervention system to monitor teams at the other end of the scale, providing one-to-one support to teams to improve discipline scores. Please note that discipline and safeguarding incidents will still be dealt with through our relevant processes.

If you’d like to learn more about the Adult Respect Team of the Month Award programme or how your team can ensure you are set up to limit your discipline cases, please contact Leon Dearns at Leon.Dearns@SheffieldFA.com
