Grass pitch workshop 2023

Grass Pitch Improvement Workshop

Join us for free as we explore how to get the most out of your grass pitches

To coincide with #GroundsWeek, which kicks off on Monday 20th March and aims to celebrate the people that keep pitches in top condition, we’re teaming up with the Grounds Management Association (GMA) to host a grass pitch improvement workshop.

Delivered by Chris Hunter, GMA Regional Pitch Advisor, and supported by Leon Dearns and Tom Measham, Senior Football Development Officers at the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA, the workshop is aimed at volunteers and grounds people at all levels that are responsible for maintaining grass pitches at their club.

What will be covered?

The workshop will focus on how to get your grass pitches looking their best, using information and real-life examples to explore the average cost and time required to maintain a pitch, as well as covering the below topics:

  • How to get the most out of your grass pitches
  • How to maximise your time and funds
  • What support and funding is available to improve your grass pitches

Why should I attend?

You’ll have a chance to speak with a GMA representative and get tailored advice and support on how to:

  • Understand the current condition of your pitches
  • Improve your grass pitches
  • Reduce match postponements
  • Own your own grass pitch
  • Apply for funding and support

When is it taking place?

The workshop will take place on Thursday 23rd March between 6.30pm and 8.30pm at Rossington Main FC, Oxford St, Rossington, New Rossington, Doncaster DN11 0TE.

Refreshments will be provided.
