Here at the County FA, we acknowledge that referees require additional support through their journey. We want to invest time and resources to help referees feel supported, provide opportunities to further their knowledge, share experiences and increase confidence all with the aim of retaining more referees in the game!

Getting Started as
a Referee
Date: Tuesday 28th November, 6.30 - 8.30 PM.
Venue: Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA, 204 Meadowhall Road S9 1BN
The workshop will be focussed on giving you all the tools you need to help you as a new referee or as great refresher for those of you who have been refereeing for longer than 12 months.
Learning Outcomes
- In the Match ( how to deal with everything and manage the game, your tolerance levels etc)
- Reporting misconduct
- Image
- The academy programme
- Correspondence
The workshop will also include a section where referees can share experiences discuss scenarios and seek advice for future games.
Foul Recognition & Assistant Refereeing
Date: Wednesday 13th December, 6.30 - 8.30 PM.
Venue: Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA, 204 Meadowhall Road S9 1BN
The workshop is suitable for all levels of Grassroots referees (and above) and will be focussing on 'foul recognition' and assistant refereeing.

- Assistant refereeing Flag techniques
- Assistant refereeing- Passive and non-passive offside and when to flag

Neurodiversity Awareness Training for Referees
Date: Monday 29th January 29th 6.30 - 8.30PM.

What Can Attendees Expect To Take Away?

- Neurodiversity and the conditions that are covered.
- The impact some of the activities at a football club can have on a neurodiverse individual.
- Understanding behaviours and reactions of players during matches.
- The changes you can make to improve inclusivity for neurodiverse individuals when refereeing.
