Grassroots Football Awards 2024 - Nominate Now
The Grassroots Football Awards are here for you to say thank you to all the people and organisations who give their time to make football happen… our awesome volunteers who give so much week in, week out, rain or shine. And they are for you, the parents, coaches, clubs, leagues, fellow volunteers, match officials and more to pass on your appreciation.
By nominating a volunteer for a Grassroots Football Award, you’re passing on your thanks. For every big and small moment they bring. For their time, energy and ideas. For your appreciation of everything they do in making the grassroots game happen.
As well as a big thank you, our local Award winners will be recognised at their own presentation ceremony later in the year. And they can win a National Award and have the chance to go to be celebrated at Wembley.
You can nominate as many times as you like, in as many categories as you like. And every time you nominate a volunteer, you can be sure they’ll hear all about it.
Who’s been truly exceptional? This extra-special award is for the volunteer that represents the best of grassroots football.
Which club deserves your thanks? Who’s done something amazing…for their players or their community?
Who’s encouraging, inspiring and inclusive in disability football? Who’s had a real impact this season?
Who’s inclusive, encouraging and inspiring for our female players? Who’s impressed you with how well they engage players?
Who’s stood out by encouraging and inspiring male players? Who’s engaged players in an impressive way?
Which grounds team makes sure their ground – from pitch to club facilities – is always ready for the game? Who always goes that extra mile?
Who’s used the power of football to improve others’ lives? Who’s made a big difference in their community?
Which league has gone above and beyond in their efforts? Who’s made football more enjoyable for more people?
Which match official has really impressed you? Who’s shown dedication and commitment to the game, and is a role model to others?
Which new volunteer has burst onto the scene this year. Who’s come in, had real impact, and made a positive difference?
Who’s created new opportunities in the female game? Which volunteer, club, league or project has moved the women or girls game forward?
Which young volunteer has brought fresh energy this season? Who deserves your thanks for sharing their time, skills, ideas and commitment?
The Geldart Award was donated to the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA in 2018 by David, Brian and Sean Geldart in memory of their parents, who did so much to establish and develop youth football in the Worksop area in the 1970s and 80s.
This is a local award and aims to recognise an individual who has gone above and beyond in youth football.
Nominations for this award can be made by emailing marketing@SheffieldFA.com and including a brief summary on what makes the person you are nominating stand out. Nominations from other categories will also be considered.
How the awards will be judged
An independent judging panel will review all the nominations anonymously, and select winners and highly commended recipients based on the positive impact a nominee has made on grassroots football.
The local winners for each category will be submitted to the National England Football judging panel for consideration for a national England Football Grassroots Football Award.
How to nominate
This year, it’s easier than ever. You can now tell their story in a way you want simply by letting us know:
- What they do, and how it impresses you
- How they make a difference to others’ lives
- Where they’ve had an impact in their community
The more detail you give, the better.
So let’s find the people who make football great in our County. And they can win a National Award and have the chance to go to be celebrated at Wembley.
