Football insight

Football insight event: explore the different formats of the game

Get advice and support to set up your own sessions

Football's not just about the professionals. It's for everyone. Today, 11.8million people play football in England. This ranges from a kickabout to the England national team walking out at Wembley – and all the levels of football in between.

With a goal to get 50,000 registered players by 2024, the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA is on a mission to create more football opportunities within our region.

To achieve this goal, we work closely with our stakeholders to provide football for all.

Which is why this month we will be hosting a free CPD event for clubs, community groups and any other organisations that deliver football to explore the different football formats on offer, share key insights into the game and provide advice and support on how to start your own sessions.

The event will take place on Tuesday 24th January 2023, from 6.30pm until 8.30pm, at English Institute of Sport (EIS), Coleridge Road, Sheffield, S9 5DA.

What will be covered

  • Insights on the different formats of the game and what support is available to help clubs, groups, organisations, etc.  set up their own sessions.
  • Examples of recreational sessions
  • Advice on sessions ideas, session management, participant recruitment, marketing, insurance, funding and start-up costs
