Female Referee Course

Female Only Referee Course

Start your refereeing journey this August!

For women and girls thinking about starting their refereeing journey in our region, there’s never been a better time to get involved.

With the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 currently taking place, Europe’s biggest ever women’s sporting event is set to inspire the next generation of players, officials, coaches and fans.

And female officials will play a critical role in growing the women’s and girls’ game, as without them there would be no game.

Our goal is to double the number of female referees in our area by 2024. One way we plan to achieve this is by running female only referee courses throughout the season.

A female only referee course is a great chance for you to meet some of our female referee role models, while also starting your refereeing journey with other women and girls.

Could you follow in the footsteps of UEFA Women's EURO 2022 referee, Rebecca Welch?

As a County FA, we are extremely lucky to have so many inspirational female referees who are willing to support newly qualified referees every step of the way, so you’ll have access to lots of knowledgeable and experienced referee mentors.

Once you become qualified, there’s a range of exciting opportunities available to you. From refereeing at recreational festivals to officiating in local leagues and cup competitions – the possibilities are endless.
