Pre-Season Coach Support Roadshow

Workshops delivered by Pete Sturgess and James Riches – don’t miss out!

Grassroots coaches in our region can now register for our upcoming Pre-Season Coach Support Roadshow.

With workshops delivered by FA National Lead Foundation Phase (5-11) Peter Sturgess and FA Regional Physical Education Officer James Riches, the roadshow will consist of a mixture of theoretical background and practical coaching demonstrations.

Pete Sturgess will explore the latest foundation phase, providing coaches with an excellent opportunity to develop their understanding of working with the foundation phase (5-11 year olds).

While James Riches will delve into match day support, helping coaches understand how they can transfer their skills into the match day environment to ensure players receive a consistent experience.

Both sessions aim to prepare coaches with fresh ideas and further knowledge in preparation for the new season.

The workshop, which will take place at Doncaster Rovers’ Eco-Power Stadium on Sunday 26th June (10am – 3pm), is free to attend for coaches in our region, and is an excellent opportunity for coaches to develop their understanding of working within the Foundation Phase (5-11 years).

On the roadshow, Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA Club Support Officer Tom Measham said: “To have Pete coming to the County once again is fantastic. His energy, enthusiasm and knowledge working with foundation phase aged players is unmatched.

"James' workshop is also one not to be missed. The roadshow will inspire and educate coaches to ensure that they are providing their young players with the best possible experience for the upcoming season."
