Apply Now To Become A Squad Girls Football Provider
With the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 tournament taking place this summer, this is an incredibly exciting time for Women and Girls’ Football.
The tournament, which is due to be the biggest women’s European sport event in history, takes place from 6th July – 31 July 2022 in 10 stadiums, across nine cities in England. Rotherham’s New York Stadium and Sheffield’s Bramall Lane Stadium will play host to some key group stage and knockout phase games, providing fans with the chance to be part of a once in a generation event.
And with the England Women’s team, and women’s football in general, expected to enjoy unprecedented exposure during the tournament, The FA is hoping the next generation of young Lionesses will be inspired to take up the game for themselves.
We want to have a programme or offer in place for every girl in the Sheffield and Hallamshire region, regardless of what their motivations to play are!
The aim for this new and exciting programme is to provide girls between the ages of 12-14 with a fun, relevant and engaging recreational offer that allows them to develop themselves as much as their football skills in a safe, inclusive environment.
The programme has been specifically designed to give autonomy, choice and voice to the girls who are involved in the sessions. By adopting this approach, young people will have the freedom to develop their social identity, become a valued member of a team and build their self-confidence through engaging in fun and flexible football activity.
Why Should I Become A Squad Girls Football Provider?
Football has the power to change lives for the better. It can contribute to physical and mental wellbeing; it can provide opportunities to collaborate with others and it can help to shape the place of girls in the world. So much has been achieved in progressing women and girls’ football up to this point. However, we recognise the game has so much more potential to grow and develop for women and girls, and this new programme provides a fantastic steppingstone for girls to either continue with their recreational football journey or start to play for the very first time!
