SHCFA Shortlisted For 2022 County FA Recognition Awards

We have been shortlisted in two categories for this year's County FA Recognition Awards.

Sheffield & Hallamshire County Football Association (SHCFA) has been successfully shortlisted for two awards at the 2022 County FA Recognition Awards.

The Awards, which will be announced at Wembley Stadium connected by EE on Thursday 15th September 2022, recognise and endorse the best projects, products and services delivered by County FAs over the past two seasons while sharing best practice and learnings from around the country.

A record breaking 235 submissions have been entered from the 50 County FAs operating across England, highlighting continuous improvements and showcasing how they are innovating to improve grassroots football and increase participation across all levels of the game.

The eleven categories which will be recognised at the awards were:

  • Brand Engagement
  • Coach Development
  • Digital Engagement
  • Employee Engagement
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
  • Football Development
  • Insight & Data
  • Partnership
  • Special recognition
  • Women & Girls
  • Youth Engagement

SHCFA has made the final shortlist for the Special Recognition award for our respect, reward and intervention initiative to improve player behavior at youth games. Implemented across all our youth leagues, clubs that achieved 100 percent Full-Time Respect scores were recognised on a monthly basis on our website, with a winning club chosen at random and rewarded with complimentary group tickets to a local professional club.

SHCFA has also made the final shortlist for the Youth Engagement award in recognition of our Young Activators Academy, which was developed as part of our Women’s Euro 2022 legacy work. The programme, launched in September 20221, was aimed at students aged 16-25 in Rotherham and Sheffield, providing volunteers with valuable insights into key areas of the game as well as opportunities to attend a range of in-house and online CPD sessions and events.
