With Sadness
It is with regret and deepest sadness that the County FA must inform you of the death of Kenneth Breese at the age of 83. Ken was a popular figure amongst our football community, and many of you will have known ken and have fond memories of him through his significant contribution to football across our region.
After leaving the Royal Airforce Ken started his refereeing career and ultimately became a Football League Assistant Referee, as well as a Training Officer for Rotherham based referees. Ken was President of the Rotherham FA and more recently in recognition of his services to football ken became a Life Member of the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA and received The FA award which recognises 50 years of service.
Ken’s Funeral will leave Rotherham Golf Club, Doncaster Road, Thrybergh, Rotherham S65 4NU at 12 noon on Friday 3rd July 2020 for a service at Rotherham Crematorium, Ridgeway, East Herringthorpe, Rotherham S65 3NN at 12-30pm Friday 3rd July 2020. It is advisable to be at the Golf Club early to pay your respects. Family flowers only, but a donation in memory of Ken may be left at the Golf Club. Unfortunately, due to Covid 19 restrictions only 10 family members are allowed at the Crematorium.
The Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA would like to thank Bruce Bickerdike for keeping the football community and members of Council informed of both this sad news and the funeral arrangements.
Our condolences go to ken’s family and friends at this difficult time
