Mosborough FC Success

Sarah Wood
Success with Stay in the Game funding

Mosborough FC were successful in applying for funding through the Football Foundation to help sustain adult football in their club.  Changing its name from Retain the Game to Stay in the Game, the funding offers clubs £750 to support the running costs of adult male teams.

We caught up with Club Official, Helen Callaghan, who explained to us how they benefited from the funding.

“We decided to use the funds to help contribute towards training costs, training our coaches and equipment”.

Mosborough FC players have profited from being able to train all year round on their local 3G pitch.  In the past, training sessions had been cancelled due to the weather but now they are able to develop their match play and general fitness every week regardless of weather.  “Purchasing new training balls and match balls has been extremely helpful.  We have also bought some goal-side nets to prevent footballs from disappearing into residential areas”.

The club were also able to cover the costs of updating first aid qualifications which has also helped them maintain the FA Charter Standard award.

The club are proud to offer playing opportunities to the local community and are pleased with the recent growth of players and how they have developed the experience for players, coaches and volunteers.
