A great day of Walking football in the sun raising over £400 for the Bobby Moore Fund

On Saturday 3rd August Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA hosted a walking football festival in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund, supporting Cancer Research UK.

Teams from across Yorkshire played in round-robin style walking football games.  

“We would like to thank all of the teams for taking part and donating funds to the charity.  The football itself was fantastic and great to watch!”  Leon Dearns, Football Development Officer.

Congratulations to Barnsley Leggy Mambos who finished as festival winners.

The main triumph of the day was the amount of money that was raised for the Bobby Moore Fund.  Over £400 was received through team registrations, raffle and general donations.  

From everyone at Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA we would like to say thank you to everyone who has donated to the cause.  An additional thanks also goes to the referees who donated their match fee as well.
