Coaching Female Players: The Physical Corner

Develop your coaching journey

Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA are delighted to announce the next event in the series of coaching female players CPD events, with the focus this time in the Physical Corner.

Dean Smith (FA Coach Mentor) & Richard Meek (FA Women's High Performance Centre, Coach Development Officer) will lead this informative CPD event.  The evening will start with a classroom session looking at coaching female players in the ‘Physical Corner’. Dean and Rich will discuss working across the practice spectrum  ‘Constant’, ‘Variable’  and ‘Random’ practices, to explore how we as coaches implement the ‘Physical Corner’ in our work with players.

The practical element of the session will look at the trade-off between different practice types and the FA 4 corner model, with a specific focus on the ‘Physical Corner’. These sessions are designed to support you as coaches and show different and adaptive ways to design your sessions to get the most out of your players. We encourage all coaches and volunteers within the female game to come along gain ideas but also share their experiences!

We have 2 dates the CPD events will take place on and they are at the following venues.
