Respect Team of the Month - December Winners

Calum Oakenfold
West End Terriers Win Respect Award

Each month Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA award one team from an affiliated club, the Respect Team of the Month Award.
Anyone is able to nominate a team, for whatever reason they wish, nominations are then put to a panel of County FA staff who then select an overall winner each month.

During December  we saw a number of teams nominated for a host of reasons. Teams included Youth teams, Ladies Teams and Men’s Teams.
December’s winners were selected for showing great sportsmanship throughout their games and always following the RESPECT Code of Conduct. They frequently change their structure to give the opposing team an advantage.

The Decembers Respect Team of the Month Winners are:
West End Terriers U11s Girls.

Their manager, Tony Lawton, gave this statement:

"It is a huge honour for  myself , the girls , parents and the club as a whole to be not only nominated but to actually win .We are all blown away by it and look forward to receiving our award."

The club has made huge steps this season in the introduction of girls football and one thing we have focused on is the respect campaign , we understand how difficult it can be to attract girls in some areas and we emphasised early on that we wanted to create a fun environment where each girl respect themselves , their teammates and the opposition .

This award will go a long way towards rewarding the girls and the coaches for all their hard work "

West End Terriers U11s Girls will officially be awarded Respect Team of the Month by Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA for the month of December. They will receive a trophy, certificate and RESPECT goodies for the players.
