Walking Football Consultation Event

Calum Oakenfold
Help Shape Walking Football Across South Yorkshire

Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA are delivering a consultation meeting to understand how we can best support the walking football infrastructure across the county.

The meeting welcomes existing teams, clubs and delivery organisations, as well as anyone who is interested in creating new activity for players.

Despite most walking footballers being retired men in their 60’s, the game is very inclusive and we’d like to see how we can support players of all backgrounds, age groups and abilities.

According to FA research the top main reasons for playing walking football is to be part of the game I love, as well as health benefits and social side of the game.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday 5th September, commencing at 7:00 pm, venue TBC. Discussions will focus on the following areas;

  • Supporting existing sessions
  • Supporting new sessions (across all organisations including grassroots clubs)
  • Engaging new players
  • Competition structure (when, where, frequency etc.)
  • Inclusivity
  • Promoting the benefits of walking football
  • Challenges / barriers

To book your place at the meeting please complete the sign up form.

Unfortunately we can only limit the meeting to no more than two members per organisation.
