Club Development Fund Deadline Extended

Calum Oakenfold
Funds available for clubs

Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA (S&HCFA) are pleased to announce funding opportunities aimed at Charter Standard Clubs and those who aspire to become Charter Standard.

Our Charter Standard Club Development Fund provides clubs with the financial support to grow teams, improve standards, and develop the game through innovative ideas.

Growth Fund

The Growth fund is available to support clubs in creating new teams.  Applications are welcome for all age groups; however we are prioritising the following formats;

  • Male 11 aside teams: U14 – adult
  • Women and girls teams: All age groups
  • Disability teams: All age groups

Clubs will be able to access up to £750 through this fund and will be asked to contribute 25% funding towards the overall cost of the project.  Funding can be used towards facility hire, kit and equipment, affiliation fees, coaching courses, and marketing/promotion.

This fund is for Charter Standard Clubs only.

Innovation Fund

The innovation fund encourages clubs to come forward with innovative ideas to help the game develop further.  The fund will support a wide range of areas that will help grow the game and improve the experience for all, such as;

  • Development of coaches and/or referees
  • Recruitment, retention and development of volunteers (including young leaders)
  • Implementing The FA Respect Programme and/or addressing poor behaviour within the game
  • Providing recreational football opportunities for new participants

Clubs will be able to access up to £750 through this fund and will be asked to contribute 25% funding towards the overall cost of the project.  We are looking for unique and innovative ideas that are new to your club.

This fund is for Charter Standard Clubs only.

Adult Support Fund

The Adult Support Fund is available to cover the costs of an adult only club to become Charter Standard.

SHCFA will support clubs complete the Charter Standard application, as well as offer free places on the FA Emergency Aid course and first aid equipment.  Funding will cover the costs of the course and first aid equipment.

This fund is for non-Charter Standard Clubs.  Clubs must become Charter Standard before January 2019.

Volunteer Fund

The Volunteer Fund is aimed at supporting clubs to meet the minimum volunteer requirements of Charter Standard.

SHCFA will support clubs to meet the minimum volunteer requirements in order for the Club to be in a position to apply for Charter Standard.  Funding will cover the costs of courses which meet the minimum Charter Standard requirements.  These include FA Level 1, FA Safeguarding Children, FA Emergency Aid, and Welfare Officer Workshop.

This fund is for non-Charter Standard Clubs.  Clubs must become Charter Standard before January 2019.

“Volunteers invest a great deal of time into their club, ensuring that they have the right measures in place to offer a fun and safe environment for players.  Attaining The FA Charter Standard kitemark is a great achievement for any club and we want to ensure that our resources go back into well-run, sustainable clubs.  Our Charter Standard Club Development Fund is a great opportunity to help clubs grow and raise standards”.
