Club Rules or Club Constitutions are crucial to the day to day running of a club.

They ensure that all members are fully aware of how the club is structured and clearly outline the rules in which the club, its members and committee will operate.

We also have a fully editable set of club rules. This document will allow you to edit all aspects of the club rules template.

Key areas to get right are the following;

Quorum for Committee Meetings and AGMs

Minimum number of meetings per year

Who will Chair committee meetings?

Your Clubs Rules should be easily accessible for all club members, we recommend storing them on your club’s website or alternatively sending them out at the start of each season to ensure that all members have access to them.

Club Rule Importance

The rules of the club are critical; they determine how the officers and other management committee members of the club are appointed, and what powers they have. If the rules aren’t followed then potentially the committee members aren’t appointed lawfully, and so their actions may not be lawful either. This could result in the committee members being personally liable for the actions of the club.
