Powerchair Football Rotherham

Powerchair Football Launch Event in Rotherham

Free taster session taking place on Saturday 6th April at 11am.

Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA is working in partnership with Rotherham United Community Trust and the Wheelchair Football Association (WFA) to provide Powerchair Football playing opportunities within South Yorkshire.

A free launch event is taking place on Saturday 6th April 2024 at 11am at Rotherham Leisure Centre.

The session will be delivered by specialist WFA coaches and is open to anyone and everyone with a disability – not just wheelchair users.

Powerchair Football, viewed by many as the only truly inclusive active team sport, caters for wheelchair users or people with severe mobility impairments. Powerchair Football provision is a completely mixed offer, allowing all ages of players and all genders who have a physical disability to engage in the game.

During Powerchair Football matches, a larger ball is used. Games are played at indoor venues on a standard five-a-side pitch, with four players used at any one time.
