Some of the world’s best footballers first built their skills through futsal, the fast-paced 5v5 format recognised as a game in its own right. 

Futsal places a large emphasis on technical ability in situations of high pressure and proves an excellent tool to develop techniques that can be translated into the 11-a-side game.

Players are constantly placed in situations where they must play whilst under pressure or in confined spaces; helping to develop a player's technique, movement, tactical awareness and fitness.

To see why futsal’s been credited with giving stars like Ronaldinho and Messi their start, the Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA is hosting a FREE Futsal taster session for men and women aged 18+.

Why should I take part?

This is the perfect place to find out what futsal is all about and get an introduction into the rules of the game. You’ll also have an opportunity to observe a professional session delivered by Sheffield Futsal FC – one of the oldest and most successful futsal clubs in England – and try futsal for yourself.

Who should get involved?

You don’t need any previous futsal experience to get involved, the taster session aims to provide an insight into the game and give you a chance to get to grips with the game.

Whether you’re a 11-a-side, small sided or recreational player, futsal is the perfect game to develop your skills or play an alternative format of the game that takes place indoors. 

When is it taking place?

Our futsal taster session will take place on Saturday 16th September between 11am and 2pm at English Institute of Sports EIS, Coleridge Rd, Sheffield, S9 5DA.
