SHCFA Youth Council is Recruiting now

Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA Youth Council is an active group of young volunteers from across the County who deliver on projects to support...

Why apply?

Each member of the Youth Council is assigned a mentor for the year that will guide and support them as volunteers and also as individuals, looking to improve their personal skills and their employability options.

Volunteering is a very rewarding and is a fantastic way for young people to boost their CVs and get noticed when applying for jobs.

One of the Youth Councils big success stories is Alicia, here’s what she says:

“I would not be where I am today without Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA Youth Council!

Before taking part in the Youth Council I was already a player, coach and referee. Been part of the Youth Council guided me to my true passion and future career in Football Development. It has been a very important step in my career and has led me in to many amazing and life changing opportunities including the chance to attend the FA National Football Futures Camp and the Youth Sport Trust National Talent Camp. From here I have then been selected to mentor on the FA National Young Coach Development Programme and then go to South Korea to mentor on the United Nations Sport Development and Peace Camp.

The Youth Council has inspired me to go out of my way and to work hard to develop the future game for the next generation. I learnt and got experience in many important aspects of football development some include the planning and running of events, communication and building relationships with key partners, managing budgets, team work, coaching and leading and delivering presentations and meetings… I would recommend anybody who wants a career in Football Development to join their local Youth Council.”

What is the commitment?

Each year you will be required to attend two full day meetings and support the Youth Council in organising and delivering a Football Futures Camp plus any other projects required.

The commitment can be as big or little as you can manage – but the more you put in the more you will get out!

You will also be invited to attend different events and volunteer with the County FA throughout the year.

How do I apply?

Complete the application form at the bottom of this page and return it to youthcouncil@sheffieldfa.com by Monday 15th May 2017 at 1pm.
