The support and encouragement of parents is vital to children’s enjoyment of the beautiful game.

Parents should be positive and support their child’s involvement in football.

Football is a sport which is beneficial for the development of their child, not only as a footballer but in their overall lifestyles too.

The FA’s Respect programme is working to eradicate touchline abuse in football, and parents can play their part by agreeing to and signing their Club’s Code of Conduct, and abiding to it.

Parents have a responsibility for the behaviour of their children too.

As part of the Respect programme players will be asked to support and sign a Code of Conduct. Parents should support their children by ensuring that the Code is adhered to.

Above all, football should be fun to both play and watch. For everyone.

The FA have put together some resources for players. Click here for an online Respect Guide for Parents and Carers and/or download the attached Code of Conduct for Spectators, Parents and Carers.
