The FA Skills initiative, which to-date has provided coaching to over 3 million children nationally, was launched within the County FA region in 2013.
Comprising of highly-skilled football coaches, the FA Skills Team work with primary schools to provide after-school coaching and free school holiday sessions, whilst also assisting and supporting Charter Standard clubs.
The programme aims to give children the opportunity to have fun playing football, whilst learning new skills and being active.
It is hoped that through the FASkills programme young footballers will become more comfortable with the ball, gain confidence, build self-esteem, have a better awareness of team work and improve their decision making.
By 2014 an estimated 4.7 million children across the country will have benefited from the FA Skills programme.
