UEFA Women’s Euro 2022: help us celebrate 100 days to go!
On Monday 28th March 2022, there will be just 100 days to go before the UEFA Women’s Euro tournament kicks off in London on 7th July 2021.
To celebrate this key milestone, Sheffield United Women are offering complimentary tickets to local groups and organisations to watch their FA Women’s Championship fixture against Bristol City Women on Saturday 26th March (12:30pm kick off) at the Technique Stadium in Chesterfield.
The occasion will provide spectators with a taste of what’s to come for women’s football in our region, with both Sheffield and Rotherham hosting tournament group matches and crucial knock-out games.
Sarah Wood, Football Development Officer at Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA, believes the FA Women’s Championship fixture is the perfect place to mark the 100 days to go milestone.
Sarah said: “If you’ve never watched a women’s football game before then this is a great place to start. Sheffield United Women offer a fantastic interactive matchday experience for fans of all ages. It would be great to see as many people as possible at the game to help celebrate the 100 days to go milestone”
Rob Jenkinson, Sister Club Officer at Sheffield United Football Club, is excited by the legacy of the UEFA Women’s Euro tournament and believes Sheffield United Women have a key part to play in inspiring more young girls to play football in Sheffield and beyond.
Rob added: “The opportunities that the tournament will present for young girls in our city are endless and the prospect for Sheffield United Women to play a part in this journey is certainly an exciting one."
So round up your friends, family or teammates and come along to watch professional female footballers in action and cheer on the Blades as they head into the final stages of the season.
