Pitch Perfect

SHCFA Launch Pitch Perfect campaign to all local Grassroots teams

SHCFA has today launched the Pitch Perfect project, a new initiative aimed at raising awareness of the environment and reducing litter through our local grassroots football teams.

The focus of the project is to encourage all grassroots football teams across South Yorkshire to register and complete regular litter picks. These picks can be completed before or after training sessions or game days and focus on teams looking to collect litter from the pitch or the immediate surrounding environment. The outcomes of this is to improve our local environment and to educate our youth players to be more aware of the environment, litter and to educate them on recycling.

SHCFA have a dedicated webpage (http://www.sheffieldfa.com/about/pitch-perfect) to Pitch Perfect that details how to register your team, how to enter each month, what prizes are on offer and support and guidance for organising a litter pick.

Marketing and Communications Officer, Calum Oakenfold, stated The aim of this project is for us to engage with our local football community, to encourage them and everyone involved with the teams to be more aware of our environment. It is an opportunity for us to use the power of football to educate our local youth players on topics that are becoming increasingly more important in our world. Through this project it will hopefully highlight the impact of littering and the benefits of recycling, it will also give teams an opportunity to win great prizes for their teams.”
