Groundsman Workshop

Groundsman Workshop

Sarah Wood
Learn how to prepare your pitch for winter

Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA in partnership with the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) are pleased to offer a free workshop to help clubs prepare their grass pitches for the winter period.

We continue to work in partnership with the Regional Pitch Advisor Ian Powell, from the IOG, the Toolstation Northern Counties East Football League and the Pete's Patisserie County Senior League. This workshop is ideal for all groundsmen in the Sheffield and Hallamshire region who have the responsibility of maintaining and looking after football pitches.

This particular workshop will focus on dealing with winter weather and associated preparation, whilst there will be the opportunity to share some excellence tips, advice and contacts in which to support the work of groundsmen. The session will involve some indoor discussion / presentations and then some outdoor elements, so please come dressed appropriately for the weather conditions.

The evening will also be supported by Abacus Lighting who will also be delivering an introductory presentation covering the following:

• The history of Abacus Lighting
• What we do
• How we can help the clubs
• Design assistance
• Costings
• Planning advice/help
• After care
• Maintenance on existing systems
• LED vs MH

Details of the Workshop are as follows:

Date: Monday 26th November, 2018
Time: 6.30pm – 9.00pm
Venue: Handsworth Junior Football Club, Olivers Mount, Sheffield S9 4PA

Light food refreshments and drinks will also be provided.
