As part of our ongoing plan to develop referees and Women Referees in particular. I am pleased to announce that we will be hosting 2 taster sessions within the county to give girls a taste of what it’s like to be a referee. With the aim of putting on a female only referees course in the summer.

These will be held on;

Wednesday 30^th May – 6PM-8PM @ SGPThorncliffe

Tuesday 19^th June – 6PM-8PM @ Balby Carr

The sessions will be a mix of Practical and Classroom based sessions, where our FA tutors will give your daughter a taste of what it’s like being a referee and some of our female referees will be there to share some of their own experiences.

You need to be a minimum of 14 Years of age to attend the taster sessions. Anyone under the age of 18 will have to have parental consent. (Form Attached)

There is no better time to be a Referee in the game with the opportunities for officials growing and growing, and as a County FA we are supporting our Female Officials and giving them the support they need to grow and develop. Our Women Referees Development Group has grown in strength this season; supporting and developing officials after their course, plus the option to have a mentor to support and be there when more support is needed.

Our Women Referees have had fantastic opportunities in recent seasons, including officiating abroad, officiating international games, officiating FA Cup Finals and attending National Development days at St George’s Park.
