County FA Coaches Conference

This year Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA ran its first ever Coaches Conference, which took place on 23rd July 2016. It was aimed at Level 1 & 2...

The coaches started to arrive from 9am and were welcomed with a notepad, pencil and memory stick full of all the days’ session plans.

During registration the coaches were asked to select their preferred sessions from a selection of topics and lead coaches. Pete Sturgess, FA National Foundation Phase Lead Coach, was the big draw, with all 57 coaches attending his session.

The County FA is extremely thankful to Pete and all the other lead coaches for their contribution on the day, every session was fantastic, informative and gave all the coaches new ideas to take back to their clubs.

The range of sessions included, England DNA, Attacking and Defending, Disability Talent Pathway, Futsal, Goalkeeping and Athletic Development.

S&HCFA is also grateful to the young players from Dronfield Town, Hyde Park Knights, Carcroft Juniors and Moorends Hornets and Stingers for taking part in the practical demonstrations and helping to bring each session to life, all the players represented their clubs brilliantly.

The event was a huge success, with a huge thank you to all the coaches who attended on the day, and the County FA will be looking to make the Coaches Conference and annual event.

The sun certainly shone throughout the day at Balby Carr Academy with great conditions for all the outdoor sessions!
