The Awards, which are run by the FA and its community partner McDonald's, aim to recognise and reward grassroots clubs and volunteers across the country as the unsung heroes of grassroots football in communities across England.

Our county awards winners were then considered for regional awards and we are very pleased to announce that Wombwell Juniors (Charter Standard Club) and the Rosehill Press Sheffield & District Junior Sunday League (Charter Standard League) are the winners of their respective categories for Yorkshire and the North East.

Both will now be considered for national honours by a panel of judges selected by the Football Association.

Sheffield & Hallamshire FA Chairman Brian Jones said: "Grassroots football is at the heart of the national game and every week across the country people dedicate their time and energy to providing a professional, fun and rewarding football experience for the local community.

"We are delighted to announce this years winners. The FA and McDonald's have recognised these clubs and individuals by awarding them with the Community Awards and I believe this is a great opportunity for us to celebrate the dedication and commitment shown by clubs, coaches, players and volunteers across the UK.

“Fingers crossed we get some national winners from our region."

All the winners will received their awards at a awards evening to be held soon, more news to follow.

Sheffield & Hallamshire FA would like to congratulate this year’s FA Community Awards winners and recognise the tremendous work they do to develop grassroots football for their communities and beyond.
