Governance Manager Vacancy

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Sheffield & Hallamshire FA

We are looking for an experienced manager to lead the Governance Team.

This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and will lead a team to co-ordinate and implement the governance of the game within the County FA.

You need to be passionate about and committed to the development of football at a local level and have had an experience of working within a regulatory environment.

You must be able to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. In addition you must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to positively influence at all levels and have a proven track record of managing staff. You will also need to have a current driving licence and be able to work evenings and weekends.

The person appointed will be a good communicator with excellent inter-personal skills. He/she will also have an extensive range of computer skills including a thorough knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The ability to multi task and handle a busy work schedule will be essential.

Candidates must also be team players with a cheerful ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to deliver objectives using their own initiative.


• The place of work is 69 Cornish Place, Cornish Street, Sheffield.
• 40 hours per week, normally from 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday (occasional evening/weekend work will be required)
• Starting salary will be £25,000 per annum.
• This Post is subject to satisfactory completion of an Enhanced CRB Disclosure.

The main tasks for this role are to:

• Managing and leading the Governance Team
• Identifying areas for improvement and establishing processes to correct those areas identified.
• Leading and setting measures to improve efficiency and gain cost savings.
• Overall responsibility for the implementation and management of the IT infrastructure.
