Competition to find young football writer

Calling all budding sports reporters - do you think you have got what it takes to write a match report about the Owls? If so then this competition is definitely for you!

Sheffield Wednesday has teamed up with the Football League, as part of the Fans of the Future initiative, in a bid to find the best junior reporter of 2010.

We are searching for a wannabe journalist who can write an exciting match report about a game they have watched at Hillsborough Stadium.

Your report should be no more than 300 words long and should include any major incidents that take place during the game including goals, penalties, bookings or anything else interesting.

The three best entries will feature on Sheffield Wednesday’s official website and in print in a forthcoming matchday programme for hundreds of supporters to see, with the overall winner being given the chance to interview their favourite Owls star after watching Alan Irvine’s team in a training session.

The winning entry will also be put forward to the National Junior Reporter Final for the chance to win a VIP trip to Wembley to write a match report on a Coca-Cola Football League Play-Off Final.

Anyone aged 14 or under can enter Sheffield Wednesday’s Junior Reporter Competition which closes on March 31, 2010.

Please email your entries along with your name, age, address and contact number to reporter.competition@sheffieldwednesday.com or you can post it to Junior Reporter Competition, Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, Hillsborough Stadium, Sheffield, S6 SW1.

So what are you waiting for? Pick up your pencil and get writing!
