Rosehill Press Association Challenge Cup Final Oakwell Stadium, Barnsley

Athersley Recreation 1 (David Hoyle)
Hollinsend Amateurs 0

The keeper had obviously been listening to his dug out who had told him to stand up for the kick as he saved the shot but Hoyle followed up with the rebound to send the local fans home happy.
Secretary Peter 'Pork' Goodlad was quoted after as saying ' I thought we dominated from start to finish and looked the better side having most of the clear chances in the game, however we couldn't fininsh and Hollinsend kept on trying to catch us on the break. It was a typical Rec performance, Full of endeavour and true graft and after most of the lads played in the final on Monday evening on the same big pitch it was a good performance and a credit to the lads'
