Clare has a background in Early Years, Education and Safeguarding in Community Settings, including Preventative Work, Direct Intervention & Family Support with Vulnerable Families/Groups, most recently within Children’s Centre’s. Clare has a specific interest in Parenting Training and Support.
Clare is a lifelong supporter of Chesterfield FC where she is a season ticket holder. Clare also regularly watches her nephews who both play within Grassroots Football.
Clare is based within the Football Development Team at the County FA Office.
The key priorities for the Welfare Officer role are:
• Receive safeguarding concerns from Clubs and Leagues and act upon them
• Receive poor practice concerns and work directly with Clubs and Leagues around these issues
• Liaison with Statutory agencies
• Liaison with The FA Child Protection team
• Create links with League and Club Welfare Officers and support them with their role
• Promote Best Practice across Grassroots Football with respect to Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults, including compliance with relevant Government Legislation and FA Policy, and targets within the FA National Game Strategy
• Promote the FA Safeguarding and Welfare Officer Workshop training programmes
