Promotion Applications 2010/11
This is a reminder that promotion applications for season 2010/11 must be in by 30th March 2010. L7-6, L6-5 and L5-4 need to e mail their intentions to craig.grundy@sheffieldfa.com.
This needs to be completed even though you may not know the outcome of season 2009/10 promotions
Closed dates 2009/10
Please send all closed dates to Julie Brookes at julie.brookes@sheffieldfa.com. Only send them to Craig Grundy if Julie is out of office for a long period of time.
Craig Grundy – New number
Craig Grundy, the CFA Referees Development Officer can now be contacted on 07792 026786 please do NOT contact him on previous number.
Respect Kit
The new Respect kit has now been passed by the FA Referees Committee. So from 1st July 2010 referees kit can have a white or black collar.
RA County Rally 2010
The Sheffield & Hallamshire RA County Rally is to be hosted by Barnsley RA and will be on Thursday 18th March 2010 at Ardsley House Hotel at 7.00pm. Tickets from your own society.
Assessors Course
The next Assessor’s course will be on Sunday 21st March, 2010. Please contact Craig Grundy for more details.
Re- Registration tickets 2009/10
The CFA scheme for any Referee who registered before 1st June, 2009 will be processed in the coming weeks. Referees will be sent by post the tickets/vouchers of the team of there choice exactly three weeks prior to the commencement of the game. Games so far are
Sheffield United v Leicester City on Tuesday 18th August.
Sheffield Wednesday v Middlesbrough on Tuesday 15th September
Rotherham United v Lincoln City on Tuesday 24th November
Barnsley v Scunthorpe United on Wednesday 9th December.
Doncaster v Middlesbrough on Tuesday 26th January – posted 5th January
The CFA can not be held responsible for tickets lost in the post.

Respect
Thank you to all the referees who have attended the FA Referees Respect Programme for at local RAs during 2009. We are now finally in possession of the Respect badge and these will be sent out to you in early January to anyone who attended. If you do not receive a badge please contact Clare Taylor on 0114 2414999
Anyone who didn’t attend will be invited to a workshop in March/April 2010.

Referees Development Programme (RDP)
30 Referees attended the November’s RDP at Mount St Mary’s School on Monday 23rd November
44 referees attended at Ice Sheffield on Wednesday on 2nd December.
The next meeting will be on Monday 15th February. Letters will be sent out in the new year.
Match Day Experience
With the help of Mick Lowe and Sheffield United FC. 4 Referees from the RDP have had an opportunity to meet the Referee and his team on match day at Bramall Lane.
This is a fantastic experience for the young Referees and it is hoped that this can continue through the rest of the season. The Referees so far who have been are James Gelder (Sheffield), Rikki Paylor and Ben Tomlinson (Barnsley) and Danny Tracey (Rotherham)
Fitness Training
Andy Hogg will be continuing fitness training through out the season. Sessions are held on Thursday evenings at Woodburn Road Stadium, Sheffield from 6pm until 7.15pm. All referees and levels are welcome.
Fitness Awareness Evening
A Fitness awareness evening will be held on Monday 22nd March for L6 and L5 Referees
Who may be considered for promotion to L4. More details to follow.
Futsal Course for existing Referees
A Futsal course will be held on Sunday 21st February 2010. This will be an all day course starting at 11am and concluding at 5pm. To book on the course or for more details please e mail Craig Grundy at craig.grundy@sheffieldfa.com
