Centre of Excellence (Disability)
Sheffield & Hallamshire FA have a Centre of Excellence for disabled players in from across the region. The centre runs every Tuesday from 6pm-7.30pm at Tapton School, Darwin Lane, Sheffield S10 5RG.
Brian Peck, Head of Football Development from Sheffield & Hallamshire FA said “The Centre of Excellence has been set up to provide an opportunity for disabled players to get together with other players, and received specialised coaching from our pool of qualified, and experienced staff”
Prior to the Centre of Excellence being launched, all coaches attended a special training course in order to deliver the specialised sessions and programmes, designed to develop attending players, to the best of their abilities.
The Centre of Excellence also provides a pathway for talented players to be selected for one of the 8 England Disability Squads.
If you are interested , or know someone who would like to join our sessions please download the flyer from the related documents section on the right hand side of this page or contact Brian Peck, Head of Football Development on 0114 241 4992 or email brian.peck@sheffieldfa.com
Development Centres (Disability)
Sheffield & Hallamshire FA also run a Development Centre for Disability Football in Rotherham.
The centre runs every Saturday from 10am-12pm at Abbey School, Little Common Lane, Rotherham.
Sessions consist of some technical skills followed by some small-sided games between the players at their ability level. Highly talented players will be signposted through to the Centre of Excellence.
There will be a small cost of £2 per player per session. This will help pay for the costs and hopefully the sustainability of the sessions.
Please contact the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA on 0114 241 4992 to register your participation.
It is planned to set up similar centres in Doncaster, Sheffield and Barnsley and provide a player pathway from grassroots to international levels.
