Matt Handley, Football Development Officer from Sheffield & Hallamshire FA said “As the demand for a dedicated, qualified workforce of coaches and support staff increases within this area it is crucial that a developed football workforce is in place to ensure the adequate provision and positive development of our players.
We strongly encourage our associates to attend this comprehensive programme of workshops and information sessions designed to support the development of our Charter Standard Clubs, and the army of individuals that make the provision of football possible day in day out across the region.”
The new programme kicks off in a few weeks with the Introductory Level 1 Age Appropriate Course being held over two evening at Barnsley Rugby Club. Also included in the programme are other workshops held at venues across the County FA region covering funding opportunities, Safeguarding Children, Introduction to Futsal, Introduction to Goalkeeping and the coaches’ refresher session.
The programme finishes in June 2010 with a Charter Standard In-Service week which provides workshops on the key elements of administering and running a Charter Standard Football Club. Sessions include Club Administration, preparing development plans, girls and women’s development, club welfare officer support, and a disability coaching workshop.
Demand for the In-service Training programme workshops and sessions are anticipated to be high, so book early to avoid disappointment.
